When physical pain allows you to escape your
reality; what do you do when the pain is no longer strong enough to quiet the
emotional ache?
Diouana “Nikki” returned to her
hometown six months ago to tend to her sick mother. She thought she’d left her
“baggage” behind her on the opposite coast, only to find that it
never left her side. As her self-destructive thoughts begin to consume her, her
mother — realizing Nikki’s torment — pushes Nikki to complete her last
Eric Brenton, Nikki’s new neighbor, lives in a
dark, chaotic world that is easily hidden behind his model good looks and cocky
demeanor. Unapologetic about his dirtier intentions, he sets his sights on
Nikki with an offer to help her. But his help comes with very unorthodox
conditions and a huge price.
And Eric…comes with an extensive black box
warning label.

1. involving immoral or dishonourable actions and motives; arousing moral distaste and contempt.

2. dirty or squalid.

Seriously peeps. If you love dark. Twisted. Unconventional and good old fashioned mind fuckery. Read this book!

This book is one hell of a dark and twisted rollercoaster.
It’s more like a haunted house than a rollercoaster.
It makes you question everything, makes you see things that aren’t there and just when you think you have it figured out. BAM you’re screaming.

This book is full of secrets. Well I can’t even say it’s full of lies as Eric is a very wicked man. Who mind fucks you like no one else. Yet he never lies. He omits the truth, or uses distraction so that he doesn’t have to lie, and just like our heroine Nikki, you can’t help but sucked into the dark vortex that is Dr Eric.

Besides the secrets this book is fit together like a puzzle.

Introducing shady character after shady character.
You don’t know who’s real. Who’s not.

Are they all after Nikki’s money? Or her sanity?

Cos ladies and gents our heroine is crazy. She is definitely a few screws lose and has no qualms in telling us this. She is also a cutter.

She lives for the pain.

So when Dr Eric Brenton comes into her life and just “gets her” and introduces her to new pain. (and a hell of a lot of dirty talk!)

The reason he gets her? Well… it’s because he’s crazy as well!

But not just him… remember those shady characters? Everyone is mentally unstable in this book.

The things they do, say, hear. It’s all just…. WOW..

This was my first book by Courtney but it will def not be my last!

I only just learnt that this is a book 1.

It’s not like the book ended on a HEA – Cos as mentioned before everyone is fucked up! I just thought that was the end of it. So there is no cliffhanger.

Just a “I’m fucked in the head and I love fucking you, and fucking with your head, so lets continue to fuck” ending”…

But bet your bottom dollar that I will be there on release day to read this next book!

Author Bio:
Ive been creating my own little world since I was very young. When I
was eight years old, I began to bring those worlds to life with pen and paper.
While I write across genres (I find it hard to
stick to one genre), I do have an archetype when it comes to the female
have to have certain type of strength, strong convictions, and layered
personalities. There will often be a lot of darkness and depth to my stories,
but I don
see the point in writing vapid characters who are thrust into
Writing Science Fiction/Fantasy is my first
love. If there is one thing for sure, I’m a bit of a misfit when it comes to
Romance. I prefer my romances dark. The elements that will be common in my
stories are: depth, controversy, and misfit characters.
